Weska: Interview

The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

Three words I think about every day

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

Ambitious rhythm addict looking to share my love of music with the world for as long a possible

Why do you do what you do?

I make music because I think it’s a great way to connect with people on another level. The satisfaction from making people dance is like no other.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

I have always been a musical person, ever since I was a young child, so I knew I wanted music to be a part of my life in some capacity. I started playing electro in high school, and practiced on my CDJ’s every day. Later I found the groove and started producing my own music. After attending countless shows and being mesmerized by the bass, it clicked that I wanted to have this same affect on others.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

With school and daily living, finding a good chunk of time for music became a challenge sometimes, and I had to learn how to prioritize and use my time wisely in order to do everything I wanted to do in a day. It’s still a challenge, but with school complete now, I have a lot more time for music and the things I am most passionate about. There just isn’t enough time in a day for everything!

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

Nicole Moudaber and Adam Beyer have really influenced my outlook on the dance music scene and have curved my life long ambitions related to music. Nicole for her incredible productions, and Beyer for his impeccable mixing skills. They are who I look up to and strive to be like, not only for their musical skills, but for their humble, down to earth personalities as well

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

Definitely starting producing at an earlier age. Its tough, because my priorities and life goals were different at the time, but I always wish I had started producing at a younger age

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

I have a few releases coming out soon, and eventually one day, I would love to start my own record label.

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

Really putting the time and effort in to get results. For some this is easier than for others, but it is something I have really realized. Do what you love, work hard, and don’t give up on it.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

Thanks to anyone and everyone that has supported me thus far. I’m looking forward to continuing on this journey with you!
