Tesbossterone: Interview

The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

Inspiration: Everywhere

Passion: The engine

Strength: Through strife

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

I’m just trying to live the dream one day at a time.

Why do you do what you do?

I love to make girls dance.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

When I was a kid listening to European rave albums I always thought to myself that it would be really cool to be the DJ though it wasn’t until about 4 years ago that I touched my first mixer. From the first trainwreck mix onward I was hooked.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

By far the toughest part about breaking into DJing is getting the first gig. My monthly residency party BASSment Bangers at JunXion officially started in January but I remember wearing shorts to our first meeting with the management. After it was all said and done though BASSment Bangers wouldn’t be nearly as successful as it is without their support. I am eternally grateful to Scott Porter, Duong Hoang and Andrew Hamilton for taking a chance on BuknRite and myself when we came to them with nothing but an idea for a bass driven music night.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

I try to take a little inspiration and wisdom from everyone in my life.

I think I have inspired others… I hope I have anyways.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

No one will ever care about it the way you do.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

Up next on the docket is the April edition of BASSment Bangers (April 30th – last Wednesday of every month). Sapporo Canada has been a great sponsor for the party. With their help we’re going to be bringing some really amazing DJs to town.

I just opened for Keys n Krates as well, it was a really surreal experience and I hope to do a whole lot more of that type of thing.

Finally I’ll be working on Free Candy 4, my ghetto symphony series.

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

Never halfass anything. If you’re going to do something you should put your whole heart into it, bleed for it. We live in a world of the mediocre, strive to make something special.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me. If you’ve ever pressed play on one of my mixes, showed up to BASSment Bangers or even talked about it with your friends, thank you. Seriously… you guys rock so hard and I wouldn’t be shit without you in my corner. If all of this disappeared tomorrow I could still look back on this experience and smile from ear to ear and it is all because of you.
