The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

Creativity

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

The Sum of all my experiences but I am not defined by them

Why do you do what you do?

I use photography as an outlet to create and release things in my life, my emotions, it is a process for me.  In fact, as soon as I finish a project I rarely look back.  I am constantly wanting to learn and grow.  That happens every time I shoot.  We are professional problem solvers.  between, lighting, hair, makeup, clients and all the other things that come up in a shoot

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

I began photography in high school with photoshop class and developing film.  I was more interested in filming my friends skate video parts and editing those.  I didn't decide that I wanted to shoot until I moved to Miami and I was working with a photographer Alfonso Vega.  I would help with art direction and concepts and realized I loved the creative process.   When I moved to LA my ex-girlfriend helped push me in that direction.  From there I took all the years of working on set and applied them to what I wanted to create.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

The toughest thing I deal with is actually my own critic.  I constantly look how I can improve and grow as an artist.  This is both a blessing and can be your worse demon.  Mario Testino told me that I need to always be honest with my work and not become attached.  You must look with fresh eyes.  No matter how successful you become you must always stay true

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

I have to say growing up my mother was and is a hippie.  I remember she told me that what ever I needed the universe will manifest it for you.  This was long before the book the secret came out.  So I wanted to get a job to pay for my skating.  So my mom told me to manifest it.  A week later I had a job.  This has been pretty much how I have done everything in my life.  I decide to do it and then I take the steps to become and excel at what ever it is.  So I would have to thank my mother

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

hahaha, I am constantly making mistakes and learning from them.  I think that is how we grow.  You look at how you could have done that last shoot better.  I have been fortunate enough to get some guidance from Mario Testino.  When he had seen my earlier work he told me that I need to focus on my style.  I think that this can be a very challenging and vague thing for any artist.  This is not just putting a filter on a photo an saying that is my style.  You find your style by shooting... and shooting a LOT.  Your eye becomes more and more trained.  Your style is born from that.  In the beginning I would shoot and had an idea of what I wanted but now when I shoot.  I am much more specific.  I know how I want the photos to look( framing, lighting, mood), poses from the model, hair, makeup, styling of clothes.  Everything is clear in my head and with this your style can be born.  That said things don't always happen the way you want and you have to be open to shift things at a moments notice.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

I am currently working with Tom's Shoes.  It is incredibly inspiring to see people build a brand that gives back the way they do.  That feels incredible as an artist.

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

The best advice that I can give is actually something that Ira Glass said.  I am going to give the same advice.  the words resonated with me so much that I feel it is the best advice I can give.
