Red Orbit: Interview

The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

Chris: Music & Family

Brian: Family, Music

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

Chris: A person with many duties and responsibilities.  A man. Brian: A simple guy who does his best to enjoy life and navigate through its challenges.

Why do you do what you do?

Chris: It’s my therapy

Brian: It’s an outlet and my stress relief valve.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

Chris: In the early 90s, my Grandfather had a Casio SK1.  I used to jam on it hard as a kid, using the built in drum loops and keying away at sounds that at the time sounded so cool to me.   I knew then that I wanted to play with sounds for the rest of my life.

Brian:  I was fortunate enough to attend a school that had ‘Band’ as a class option.  Playing in a small orchestra when everyone is on point is a very exciting feeling.  This has always stayed with me so I am always searching for that feeling.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

Chris: Moving around a lot.  My father was an army man plus I had the itch to move around in my adulthood.  I moved twenty times by the time I was 25.  Relocating time after time can take its toll on you.

Brian: Getting out of my house and into the studio.  For a long time I was distracted by other interests and responsibilities.  I put music on hold to pursue these things.  Reconnecting with Abs helped rekindle my love for creating music.  Bringing back the feeling of creation and connection with other musicians is a special thing.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

Chris: My Grandfather.  I hope I can inspire people…

Brian: My wife, my kids, my folks.  I hope, as Chris does, that through my actions, I could inspire others.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

Brian: Waiting.  I’ve always known that I wanted to create music at a professional level but was intimidated by the process.  However, the only way to get comfortable doing that thing is to do it.  So my advice to anyone that is procrastinating getting into what they really want to get into is ‘Bite down hard and go!’

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

We are focusing on sharing this EP with the world.  That said, we have a few ongoing projects.  Essentially we are always looking to produce for artists.  So if you like what you hear, hit us up!

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

Chris: I’m a big believer in following your dreams, but within reason.  A plan B is essential.  Go to school, get an education, but don’t forget to live!  I also think that learning multiple languages is a gift.  So take the time to learn and practice, you never know when it will be needed, especially if you travel a lot.

Brian:  Chris sums it up pretty nicely.  I can only add to not be afraid to follow your dreams.  Life is too short not to go for it.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

Chris: I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes: "Imagination is more important than knowledge." – Albert Einstein

Brian: I will also leave you with a quote “We came.  We saw.  We kicked it’s ass!” – Dr. Peter Venkman, Ghostbuster (aka Bill Murray)
