Mandee Woodford: Interview

The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

Life. Determination. Women. Creativity.

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

I’m too complex to know the answer to that myself. I’m still learning. I’m not even tryna act mysterious haha

Why do you do what you do?

Because I love it.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

I can’t think of a specific moment when I thought ‘I want to be a model’. I just always wanted to be creative and to work for myself. I used to have jobs doing office work and stuff and just found it pretty soul destroying. Each to their own.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

My anxiety and shyness. I just told myself, ‘if this is what you want to do, you’re just gonna have to get over it or it’s not going to happen’! In turn modelling has helped me because sometimes I’m thrown into really difficult situations where I feel put on the spot but I just have to act super confident. I still struggle sometimes but the enjoyment I get from my work outweighs any negative feeling.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

I'm inspired by everything and everyone in some way. My husband definitely inspires me now because he is so motivated and I really admire him as an artist. I really don’t know if I’ve ever inspired anyone myself!

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

Spending my time on people who don’t appreciate it. Weather it be underselling myself near the beginning, or taking the time to give people modelling advice when they haven’t been there for me in return. Time is money as they say!

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

I’ll be continuing with more music videos and shoots as always! I also do a photographic series with my husband called ‘two souls’, which we shoot all around the world. Lots of plans for that this year but you’ll just have to keep an eye out for us!

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

It sounds cheesy but follow your dreams in life! It’s all possible. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Don’t settle for anything less than what you really want.  xxxxxx

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)
