Malcolm Dopekiid: Interview

The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

Inspiration: Music

Passion: Energy

Strength: Always Prosper

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

I dont know who I am yet, But I know what Im not.

Why do you do what you do?

I do what I do partly because i feel this is what im supposed to do with my life & also because the writing aspect of making my music is what i crave. If i feel i need to write, i need to write.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

I think i decided this is what i wanted to do when i was in my first couple months of writing & rapping. At the time they may have been childish ambitions, but I know, my whole life I've always wanted to be something or someone great.

I used to be a dancer. I would start to have a feeling to similar to making me want to dance, so i would dance. But still felt like something was missing. Still had that unfulfilled feeling. So i started writing. & satisfied that feeling.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

My biggest obstacle right now is myself. Writing conciously is something i stress myself to do. I want to be able to literally project my mind in a situation or place & write about every aspect of it. If i speak of the garden i want you to smell the flowers. Writers block is a very hard thing for me to cope with sometimes. But again, I know that's all on me.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

I think it was dancing that inspired me to rap & write, in the long scheme of things. & in all honesty, what inpsired my start to dancing was Missy Elliot & FatMan Scoop's Music Video to "Lose Control"

Lol, So thanks Missy Elliot.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

One mistake Ive made on my Journey is Not finishing my 'Canadian Music Industry' class at Algonquin College. Cudda really used that knowlege. Next semester, im actually attending class, lol.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

I have a Mixtape dropping hopefully by the End of August called "The Most Un-Likely To Succeed" just writing & recording the last of it.

Several shows this summer including CapcityShowdown2 & ill also be investing in marketing/promotion.

For a second time, Ill be featuring on a Ottawa/Toronto Compilation Mixtape "Shigity Season 2" Hosted by the Homie Raiden Black. Download the first Shigity Season on Datpiff. Check out my Track "100".

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

One thing I would say to anyone out there is that if you love doing something, dont let no one tell you shit. They used to laugh at me, tell me im wack, but now most people see the vision. If you believe in you, then eventually most people will. And dont b a fking gimic. I hate those man -.- be you. Dont front.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)
