Once again, that's a bit of a hard one. We have so many genres we enjoy it's a bit hard to boil it down to just one

LAMAR+NIK : Interview

The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

Do what you want

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

We are Jesse Lamar High and Nik Harper

We direct under the moniker LAMAR+NIK

All caps, No spaces, Or else

We are everywhere

Why do you do what you do?

We have ideas that we have to express to the world otherwise we get depressed

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

We just always had ideas and we set goals to try to achieve them. We knew we wanted to do this for a living in college, but we still have a long road ahead.

We are not where we'd like to be yet, but we continue to chase our goals.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

Sending ideas to labels and agencies that just don't get your ideas. We have sent a lot of ideas that just get flat out rejected when we really feel we have something special. What helps

us through it all is each other honestly. We just kind of say "fuck it" we'll do the idea anyways with or without money. We just believe in ourselves too much to let

someone else tell us that we can't do our own ideas that we painstakingly came up with.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

Early on it was definitely Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry we looked up to. I'm not sure if we've ever inspired anyone honestly. We get a lot of feedback on our videos, but

no one has ever paid homage to us or anything like that. I'd like to think we've inspired at least someone in the world.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

Don't let anyone hold the keys to your future and career. You are always in the driver's seat. Sometimes you just have to step back and realize that you can

only help yourself out by doing work you want to do regardless if there is a budget or not. If you want to make good work you have to make sacrifices.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

We have a short that we are really stoked on and a couple of MV's that we are working on.

Just finishing up the Director's cut of a Durex advert we shot.

We also have one MV we are sitting on right now that has a pretty funny cameo in it too.

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

Just fucking do it. This is the most simple phrase, but also the truest. Stop waiting around for circumstances to be perfect because it's never going to happen.

Most of the people in any profession that make it have talent, but they also had the drive to do what most people never start.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

Drake beat Meek Mill for sure in the rap battle beef they had
