The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

Tea;

The Everyday Artist.

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

Who am I...Good question. I actually ran away to New York to figure that out. I’m a kid that-that likes weird stuff.. Like outer space stuff and things like photography and long words and, thinks of things like “I wonder what the person right next to me is going through right now. I wonder if they could use a smile right now. What is their home life like? I wonder a lot of things, really. That’s what I am. I’m a wonder(er).

Why do you do what you do?

Being a writer and a visual artist allows for me to provide a voice to things that can't speak on their own. By photographing, designing and producing a body of copy, it allows me to release the voice inside of my head that’s dying to get out. That’s why I started my blog ( Johnny.jpeg )

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

My mom likes to remind me of the story of when I was in 5th grade. She says that we use to be riding in the car and I would look up at the billboards and I would critique them. “If I could do it, I’d do it this way” kind of comments. I designed throughout high school and I moved to Atlanta to attend Georgia State University. I ended up getting into the hip hop industry working for 2Chainz and Nicki Minaj and realized that photography was another part of my passion. After graduating and touring for a while, I found a direction of energy leading towards NYC. And, here I am.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

Toughest thing was leaving Atlanta. I had an established brand there and it was horribly difficult just to pack up and leave the roots I planted for years. That is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Starting a clean slate in a new city.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

Not really. I’ve always had to be my own person. Never really had a role model growing up. I think my “dad” being absent in my life forced me to be better. So thanks, Jeff. You sucking as a human being inspired me.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

Wow.. I’ve made so many.. I think a lesson I have learned that I still practice to this day is the act of turning something bad into a positive attribute. I’m really really good at converting energy.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

My blog is close to hitting 100k views. That’s a huge goal for me. I have a lot of collaborations coming up with some very professional photographers that I’m amped about. I actually just got a text message from my old boss in Atlanta telling me that they are using a photo of me to advertise on billboards in the city and on the side of the Atlanta public busses as well. So that’s pretty damn cool.

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

Don’t try to mix Jack Daniels and Sprite. I tried to do that in New Orleans last week. That shit is disgusting and you’ll try to get on stage with strippers and a man in a black jacket with a bluetooth earpiece will escort you off. It’s embarrassing. (the earpiece, not the public humiliation.)

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

If you’re ever in NYC, hit me up. I’m an introvert disguised as an extrovert that loves grabbing coffee and watching Harry Potter marathons. Wanna be friends? @johnnydotjpeg

Fav Sport to play

Well, I’ll have you know I played for a whole 3 minutes in the last game of my high school basketball season. Yeah, you heard right. The whole 3 minutes. Just between him and I, the coach referred me as his secret weapon. We didn't want to go public with my super important title simply to avoid any favoritism on and off the court. You know. Sports politics and shit.
