The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

My mother. She raised myself and my two brothers and made us into the men we are today. I owe my values, motivation, and success to her.

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

Goliath PAW! Im a cool positive confident party MC with a unique style. I make Hip Hop music but I add Rock/Pop elements to keep it fresh. I love making music and love performing even more. Its always a party when Goliath PAW is around!

Why do you do what you do?

I love to see people happy and music makes people happy. I get to express my thoughts into songs and people listen. I'm able to change minds, raise ideas, and inspire people.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

The first time I  laid out a verse and heard the playback. That’s when I knew I wanted to make music, specifically rap music. I’ve always had a way with words and a knack for coming up with  rhymes and turning them into stories. I didn't start rapping until my last year of high school and then totally stopped when I moved away to attend college and then university. It wasn't until I returned home to Ottawa, a few years ago, that I started up again and decided to do it on a full time basis.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

That would have to be changing my way of thinking. The music industry isn't taught in school and most of what we think we know about it is actually our own interpretation of what we see on TV and hear on the radio. My great friend and manager has helped me with this and we continue to research and educate ourselves on the ever changing music industry.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

Yes, my parents have always been behind any decisions I've picked in life, with of course, their guidance. When I decided to pursue a career in music they were accepting just as long as I got my post secondary education first. Knowing that I have their support motivates me to keep going.

As for directly inspiring people, it happens all the time. I get emails everyday from fans who tell me how by following my journey has inspired them to start out on their own path to chasing their dreams. My friends also tell me that by watching me they've now been able to pursue their passions outside of regular work.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

Having false expectations when I first started. I thought that by doing a few shows, putting music online, and having little promo that I'd be an overnight success. I know now that it is and will always be a long process and the higher you move up, the harder you must work to stay at that level and eventually move forward.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

I just released my first project called “Canary In A Coal Mine.” Its an 8 track high energy hip hop EP with a strong pop and rock influence. I have already released two music videos, Higher and Buried Alive which are both available on YouTube, and I will be shooting the video for Weirdos Win in May. I just had a sold out CD release party in Toronto in March and I recently booked my first headlining  regional tour in Ontario which starts on April.18. Right now plans are in the works for a national tour.

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

Always do your best and believe in yourself. No one can tell you what you cant achieve and only you can stop yourself from reaching your goals.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

To Ottawa, my city, putting me on and giving me the chance to represent for them. My manager Gevoni, pushing me to be my best and making it all work. To Babes and Gents for providing a platform for artists like myself to gain exposure. Last but not least, a BIG shout out to all the patners steady supporting Goliath PAW. Couldn't do it without y'all. YouKnoWhoa!
