Foreign Diplomats: Interview

The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

Reasons to live, ambition.

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

No one. Yet.

Why do you do what you do?

Because it makes me feel better than when I’m doing anything else.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

When I started writing songs and when I started to be proud of them and wanted to show them to people. I think listening to a lot of artists and different types of music to find inspiration and study this artform’s history made me want to be part of it. The people I play with have a huge impact on knowing if I want to do music or not. When I write for Foreign Diplomats, I write for the other guys in the band and I don’t think about anyone else playing them. When you find the right people, it gets much more fun. That’s what Foreign Diplomats is.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

Organize my schedule to fit the band and school in. Getting musicians out of the band. The boys in Foreign Diplomats, my family, my friends, everyone that’s close to me helped me in a way.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

I can’t really think of anyone precisely that has inspired me to be who I am. For sure, my parents, musicians that I like (maybe David Bowie, The Beatles, Tom Waits, James Murphy, Brian Eno, and a lot more). I don’t think I personally inspired anyone, but maybe Foreign Diplomats did.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

Writing about things I don’t want to sing about anymore. Don’t write love songs for someone. They might not be real for long.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

Record the best album we can do with Foreign Diplomats and try to last long enough to write other stuff. Right now, I really want to work with the band because it’s the best team I’ve ever been with. I’m getting sentimental.

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

I’m still too young to give advice to anyone.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

Have you heard the new D’angelo album?
