Eleni Kyri: Interview

The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

An evolving journey filled with challenges, joy, and self-fulfillment.

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

A flaneur that is always in search of life’s sublime.

Why do you do what you do?

I needed a creative outlet where I could share life musings so I chose to start a blog.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

From picking out my own clothes at the age of 5 to colour coordinating my closet at the age of 9, fashion has definitely been a passion of mine for a very long time. This past year I finally decided to put my plan into action and to start blogging about life and style.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

One of the challenges of blogging and in any industry for that matter is that you cannot help, but compare yourself to others. It was a challenge in the beginning to find my own voice. Instead of comparing myself, I now see other bloggers as a means of inspiration to improve myself.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

Although I am a firm believer that motivation should come from within as it has, my family and boyfriend have always been great motivators for me. I am very grateful to have had their support. In terms of me being an inspiration, it is always refreshing to get emails from my readers telling me that they tried something different with their style they saw on my blog. That is the reason why I started my blog, so it means a lot.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

I was fortunate to have had the courage to reach out to bloggers I admired as soon as I started blogging, so I created a niche of people that I could reach out to for help whenever necessary. This is also my number one advice to a new blogger. Being part of a community is an essential element of being a blogger, and essentially ensuring that you do not make any mistakes that can be easily avoided.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

I am going on a trip to Greece this summer and I am looking forward to shooting outfits in new locations.

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

Every beginning is fragile.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

I want to share my favourite quote by Eleanor Roosevelt which I think is a great lesson for all of us, “Do what you feel in your heart to be right- for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't”. Thank you for reading!
