Conor Whitehead: Interview

The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Greenday, Blink 182.

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

I am a regular boy slowly starting to live out my dreams.

Why do you do what you do?

I make and perform music because it brings a lot of positivity to myself and those around me. It’s amazing how we create something from nothing and it gets people singing and dancing.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

I knew I wanted to play music for as long as I can remember. When I played on stage with Greenday at The Canadian Tire Center that’s what really made it clear it was what I wanted to do for a living.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

Realizing my life journey wouldn’t be the same as a lot of my friends and family, and that it would be full of risks and lots of highs and lows was a hard thing to understand. It’s easy to say “I’m an artist, I’m different” but really understanding what that means took some time to realize. I’m lucky that I am surrounded by so many supportive friends and family. They’re the ones that give me the extra help to chase this insane dream.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

Teachers, musician friends, other artists and bands have all inspired me to become who I am. I’ve ran into a few people at some of the jobs I’ve worked who told me if they could go back and do it all again, they’d be doing something they truly loved for a living. It’s those people who have really inspired me to do what I love.

I hope I inspire people to think outside the box, and realize dreams are only dreams because you are thinking about them, and not doing them. Do them, then they won’t be dreams, they’ll be reality.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

I’ve made so many mistakes I could list them here all day. I learn from all of them, and I make sure to never make the same mistake twice. I’ve learned it’s ok to fail, and important to. It’s these failures that get you closer to success.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

We have our EP release party April 18th at Ritual!

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

Have fun.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)
