Brock Zeman: Interview

The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

a self help seminar

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

I'm a songwriter and a producer.....and a bunch of other stuff that

I'd rather leave out.

Why do you do what you do?

Because I can't not do keeps my heart pumping

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

When it noticed that my hockey stick was being used more often as a guitar than a hockey stick

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

Just because it worked before, or it comes natural, and people like it

doesn't necessarily make it the right thing for you to do.  You have to go after YOUR vision of your music. You have to constantly stretch and

reinvent yourself and work your craft.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

The idea of pursuing the thing that makes you happiest has always made the most sense to me.   So whenever I see someone doing just that I get inspired.   I'll never forget the first time I saw Fred Eaglesmith play. It was at The Blacksheep Inn in Wakefield.  I remember thinking to myself: that's it, that's the thing I want to do.  I was never the same after that.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

You can get too close to comfort.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

For 2015 I plan to release a new record called "Pulling Your Sword Out Of The Devil's Back".   It's been a long time coming.   I've put a lot of work into this beast and I'm putting as much as I can muster behind the release of it.   Really excited to get it out there.

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

Smile and say thank-you all the time.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

Thank you!   New Record: Pulling Your Sword Out Of The Devil's Back Out! Out in March 2015
