The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

The people and environments you surround yourself with.

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

I am a passionate, creative perfectionist that thrives on never settling, finds sanity in challenging myself and am person who loves making genuine connections with people from all life forms.

Why do you do what you do?

I show the world that brunch is more than a late breakfast, but a lifestyle. And I have so much fun doing it! But I do it mostly because writing, shooting videos and creating original content is therapeutic for me. I love that in every single post I am able to interact with different restaurants, people and brands and mesh it all into one cohesive piece. I love creating captivating content, and also keeping clients and the people around me happy with the final product.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

I knew probably for 2 years that I wanted to blog about something. The idea to blog about the brunching lifestyle came about a year and a half ago. I used to live and work in New York City. After a long week, my friends and I would be counting down the days until our weekend brunches on Saturday and Sunday. It gave us something to look forward to - to catch up with each other, to drink champagne, and to forget about everything that didn’t involve having fun. A lot of friends and friends of friends would come to me asking “What’s the best brunch spot?” and I knew that I wanted to create a place where people could visit to get all of that information. That’s where The Gilded Bellini came to life.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

The toughest thing is having patience, trial and error and doing everything yourself with little to no help. I created my site on my own, taught myself how to edit video, learned what content resonated with my audience more… etc. You’re never going to know what works and what doesn’t work right off the bat. As a blogger, I am my own publicist and my own content creator. I think people think that blogging is just posting pretty pictures, and it’s the complete opposite. Blogging, writing, and creating - those processes do not end it and it requires a ton of dedication. The minute you have one post go live, you’re already in the midst of writing that next post. Plus, it is a constant job to do what you can to get your name/your blog out there in the world for awareness. I am extremely lucky that now, nearly half a year in, I have connected with some very talented people in the blogging/influencer community that have given me genuine advice and guidance on blossoming my blog into a business.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

In the blog sense, definitely my friend Kelly McFarland who is a blogger at @MimosasManhattan. She’s extremely genuine and I’ve watched her blog gain a huge amount of recognition since the time that I’ve known her and now she’s working with crazy big brands. I look to her for advice and inspiration, especially when the going gets tough sometimes. In general, the people who have inspired me are my close friends and family that I surround myself with. I think that in life, there’s always going to be people who pretend to support you and maybe tell you things or give you a backhanded compliment to increase your self doubt. I’m really lucky to have a tight knit group of people that believe in me and continue to push me to reach new goals.

I am not sure if I have ever inspired anyone directly. I’ve been told I am inspiring and I appreciate that very deeply. If I have inspired anyone, I am truly humbled.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

Sometimes you can’t tell people too much, especially people who may not have you in their best interest. It’s best at times to just keep your business to yourself, because that negativity can get in the way with your own personal success.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

I’ve been collaborating with a few different brands and recently modeled for a local Orange County clothing designer. My goal is to create more genuine relationships within the influencer community and hopefully collaborate with other talented people. A personal plan is to get rid of any trace of negativity in my life, and to focus on all things positive and progressive.

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

People will try to bring you down, no matter how successful you are. They’ll gossip, they’ll throw shade. Don’t let it get to you. Being the successful person that you are is something you should be proud of and that you don’t need validation by anyone else for. Easier said than done, but know in whatever you choose to do, there are other people who are in your place or have been where you are. Take every leap or fall and just learn from it. I’ve learned that when something not so great happens in your world, it doesn’t mean the world stops turning. You need to push through, and you WILL get through it.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

Find what inspires you and thrive off of it. Find that creative outlet. It’ll bring you so much more clarity, sanity and happiness in your life to have something that you can call your own and be proud of.
