The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

These are all powerful words – for me, theses are pretty much the driving force behind all I do with music.  Inspiration, passion/desire are the starting points for creation and bringing an idea to life and the strength and dedication is the responsibility to the music to bring it to life in the best possible way.

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

I'm basically a regular guy lucky enough to be doing something I love on a daily basis.  The ability to make a living from playing music around the world is something I never take for granted.

Why do you do what you do?

It sometimes feels as though music chooses you rather than the other way round!  Call it a compulsion perhaps, seeing the way that music unifies people from different walks of life all around the world is a really inspiring and humbling thing.  This definitely drives me to keep creating – I am lucky to play a part in that.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

When I was 16, a vacation in Ibiza was heavily responsible – the tracks I was hearing at that particular time really set something off inside me and I guess, that was the catalyst for me wanting to create and communicate through this medium.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

I guess being away from my family and friends, missing loved ones birthdays and special events.. We usually pick a day when I am home to get together.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

The likes of Armin van Buuren and Carl Cox are my idols, these guys are at the top of their game. They inspire me both musically and as people.  To see guys who are continually at the forefront of their respective genres remain so relevant for such a long period of time and so humble on a personal level is quite mind blowing.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

That’s a difficult one for me to answer.  If my music is able to make someone connect with a certain emotion/feeling and perhaps inspire them on some level to create, I think this is the absolute ultimate reward for me as a producer and DJ.  For me, some of my favourite tracks have really changed my life so if I have inspired anyone, I hope it is through the music I have created. I think all the mistakes made along the way are really important parts of defining who we are so I guess that is the lesson; what can often feel like the worst possible outcome usually ends up showing itself for the opportunity it really was.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

I am releasing the ‘Hide Your Heart’ single with Eric Lumiere on May 18th which we have just finished shooting a video for in LA with Director Ross Ching (Death Cab For Cutie, Gareth Emery).  There will be a Chris Schweizer remix as well – I’m really looking forward to sharing this release!

Beyond the release of ‘Hide your Heart’ I am working on several new collaborations (both club and vocal tracks) which will be out before the end of the year on Armada Music.

I'm also starting to develop #GoldrushRadio, my weekly radio show and we are going to be featuring special guests, backstage hangouts with friends of mine on tour and live sets of mine from special events.

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

Be unique in what you do to stand out from the crowd.  Be true to your own ideals and listen to the opinions, but TRUST your own judgement and instinct above all.  In life, try to be a better person than you were yesterday!

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

I want to say a huge thank you to anyone who has listened to my music and/or come down to a show – you guys are the reason I do what I do and I am forever grateful for all the support, encouragement and messages I receive!!
