The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

When I think of the words Inspiration, Passion, and Strength the first people that come to mind are the wonderful women who raised me. Growing up I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by incredibly strong, passionate, and inspiring women, and it is because of them that I was able to become all I am today.

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

Now that's a great question, and a difficult one at that. I'm a combination of all the books I have read, songs I have heard, and people I have met. I'm the experiences I've had, stories I've been told, and opportunities seized.

I guess I'm just me.

Why do you do what you do?

I do what I do because I love the idea of being a little bit of everything all at once. I'm a model, an actress, a motivational speaker, an activist, a teacher, an avid volunteer, and a life enthusiast. Each thing that I do honours a different unique part of me, and it's really fun to be able to explore all sides of who I am.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

I love living life to the fullest and really do try to seize every opportunity.

Modelling was an incredible opportunity that presented itself to me through a series of very fortunate events, and what started as one charity fashion show has now blown into a full fledge career - one that I'm so grateful for. What I love about it is that it allows me the opportunity to meet some pretty incredible people, represent some truly inspiring talent, and it provides me the platform to speak out on some really important issues that I care about most - like education, self-esteem, and maintaining a positive mindset.

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

I think the toughest thing that I’ve had to overcome would be truly understanding what it means to put yourself first. I’m a people pleaser by nature, and was always putting others needs and priorities first. I loved giving back, but it got to the point that I was actually neglecting my own dreams and goals, so I had to readjust and learn how to take that energy that I was focusing on all those around me, and focus it on me a little, on my own needs, values, and goals.

The funny thing was, was that when I started doing that I began to be happier, look better, feel better, and ultimately, having invested that time in me allowed me the confidence and energy to do even more for myself and for others than I could have ever otherwise imagined.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

Absolutely - Over the years I have been incredibly fortunate to have been surrounded by an amazing group of friends, family, and an incredible boyfriend who have always encouraged me, supported me, and inspired me to be all that I can be.

It’s all about surrounding yourself with good people, and that’s exactly what I’ve been trying to do lately - surrounding myself with kind, supportive, talented, and inspiring people who are always encouraging and challenging me to be the best version of myself that I can be.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

That’s tough to say, especially because, to me, every mistake is just a lesson to be learned - but I suppose if I had to choose one lesson that I wished I had learned sooner it would be that everything you do in life is 90% mental and the other 10% is in your head …Because literally everything in this world is possible so long as you have the courage to strive for it. That’s a biggie for me, and something that I wish I had learned a heck of a lot sooner.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

I’ve always got a dozen things on the go, but one of my nearest and dearest new projects is the launch of Creative Demand Co. It’s a really cool multidisciplinary creative agency that I’m starting up with some other incredibly talented Canadian artists.

Essentially, our team combines forces to provide creative content and strategies for other artists and companies, and utilizing our own social push, we provide additional exposure for clients through our own social media outlets. Overall, our end goal is to transform Toronto into a worldwide creative hub where artistic minds thrive and produce incredible content!

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

We were all put here to be great, so believe in yourself and all that you do, and know that so long as you can dream it, you can achieve it.
