The first words that comes to your mind when you hear Inspiration, Passion, and Strength

My Dad.

Who are you? (Answer how you interpret this question)

I am all the twists and turns and bumps on my road.

Why do you do what you do?

Because I can’t imagine doing anything else.

When did you know this is what you wanted to do, and what events led you to choose it?

I have always loved fashion---when I was 3 I would pour over my mom’s magazines, tear out my favourite images and make collages. However, for most of my life I never realized that I could turn that love into a career. When one of those aforementioned twists came in my path, I ended up at the Fashion Design Program at Blanche Macdonald Centre {http://www.blanchemacdonald.com/} in Vancouver for a creative outlet year. But it turned into so much more; I fell in love with the industry, and I graduated with a degree in design. After designing for a few years, I discovered what I was really passionate about was being completely immersed in the industry and I began writing, and haven’t turned back!

Toughest thing you had to overcome to do what you do? And what/who helped you?

Having confidence in myself, and forging on in an industry that is still in it’s infancy. There is no set rules for blogging, so we are all figuring it out as we go. Finding a community of bloggers was a game-changer. When I began partnering with Michelle from the blog Teach in Fashion {http://www.teachinfashion.com/} that was the turning point for my blog. She was the one who encouraged me to be taking outfit pics of myself and finding my place in the plus size end of the market, and ever since we have become each other’s blogging support and photographers---learning along the way.

Has anyone/anything ever inspired you to become who you are (to follow your dreams)? Have you ever inspired anyone directly?

This is going to be a long answer… First, my mom---she has always supported me in following my dreams in any and every way she possibly could.

I also had some incredible people in my life when I was attending BMC; Program Director Peggy Morrison always went out of her way to inspire and encourage me. She believed in me and invested her time in everything I did, and her classes opened my eyes to the world I know and love. As well, Lisa Gellert, my illustration teacher who inspired my love for all things avant garde and never stopped pushing me to be and do better.

And as far as someone who inspires me by doing what she does, Nicolette Mason {http://www.nicolettemason.com/}--- she is a superstar! She is an incredible plus-size blogger, a contributing editor for Marie Claire, and a creative consultant---and she happens to share my affinity for all things pink!

It has been so moving to hear the outpouring of love from people in my life, and from my readers. I have had the pleasure of hearing the voices of women of all sizes find a place in the community through what I share. It amazes me the lives you can impact without being aware. That makes me all the more conscious to be kind and gracious to everyone you encounter.

One mistake that you made in your journey? How have you learnt from them?

Latest Wrinkle started as simply an outlet for me to share my thoughts on fashion and style, mostly from the runways. A mistake I made early on was ignoring the corner of the industry that I actually was apart of, the plus size end. Through growing in my own Body Positivity journey, both within myself, and with a fantastic community I am now apart of, I now share my love of style accessible to women of any shape or size.

Upcoming projects? Plans/goal? (about anything, if you have any)

I have some really exciting collaborations on the horizon, unfortunately I have to keep those hush-hush at the moment---but keep a lookout for what’s to come. Oh, and something exciting I haven’t shared yet… I will be launching my YouTube channel in the coming months!

What advice would you give to other people? (Just about life in general - It could be about anything)

Be memorable by your love for yourself and your love for those around you.

Say anything you want, about anything (Last words)

You can face any challenge with a bag of chocolate gummy bears, quotes from a celebrity memoir, and the right attitude.
